Friday News - 2/12Friday News –2/12

This was a busy week!   The Red Team students began D.A.R.E.,watched Coach get his hair shaved (see video on the WIS blog),celebrated Valentine’s Day,and of course, did a whole lot of learning!  In Math, students began an introductory approach to division with 2-digit divisors (see post below).  I am pleased with the results as students seem to understand that the process is very similar.

We are now ready to begin division with 2-digit divisors.  Students will be reminded of their previous work with compatible numbers to help them determine a starting point for division with 2-digit divisors.  They will be encouraged to try, check, and revise their calculations as they perform these problems.  This will be something we will be doing over the next couple of weeks so that students may begin to build confidence in performing these problems.
